Review by Kathy J & son

the stranger in me is a coming of age story set in thr pacific northwest during the 1950s and 60s. it follows Roy as he grows up between ages 7 and 18. in a bye gone era of slow paced living and strong work ethics and morals. this book is a great read for those who love history. the details make it easy to picture yourself in the story. mostly geared towards middle school-aged students, I found this book to be a wonderful read full of self-discovery. the illustrations are beautiful, even on Kindle. I highly recommend reading this with your little one or by yourself if you want to remember or relive the slower pace of life. my son said it was a good book, and he liked learning about how people used to live. he couldn't believe that there used to be no phones or wifi.
